Health Services

We believe in a holistic approach to treatment and realize that healthy bodies are as important as healthy minds. Woodland Hills employs a full time Registered Nurse and Certified Medical Assistant to provide for the physical well-being of the students in our care. The Registered Nurse works closely with a Physician’s Assistant from the Hermantown Clinic, a branch of St. Mary’s Duluth Clinic to meet the medical needs of students. Upon arrival, each student in our residential programs meets with our medical staff for an initial screening and medical staff are available as needed during placement. Psychiatric services are provided through a partnership with the Human Development Center while psychological services are provided by a variety of therapists in Duluth, depending on the student’s needs and the psychologist’s area of expertise. With the expertise of our staff and through collaboration with local agencies, we are able to offer a continuum of quality care to youth that addresses behavioral, emotional and physical health.
