> Community Involvement

Woodland Hills youth learn that by giving their time, care and concern, they gain a greater respect for themselves and others. Our kids find that within each of them is a light – a light that can bring out a smile, offer hope or instill happiness in others. Our youth give back to the community through service work such as participating in the adopt-a-grandparent program at local nursing homes, reading to elementary students, volunteering time at daycare centers, serving meals to the less fortunate and working on adopt-a-highway projects. In addition to service learning, our students give back to the community through work projects. Whether it is raking leaves, shoveling snow or landscaping, our youth realize the benefit of hard work and pride in helping out the community year around. Through these and other experiences, youth realize the spirit of giving and discover that they can make a difference.
