Program for Girls
Woodland Hills has collaborated with the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) since 2002 to offer residential programming to females committed to the Commissioner of Corrections.
AMICUS provides restorative transitional programming for DOC girls, as well as trauma counseling for all girls at Woodland Hills.
Circles of support are offered (girls receive on average three to four circles during placement and at least one circle during their extended furlough) as well as victim mediation and transitional planning circles.
Transitional planning includes a focus on the living environment, education, employment, support services and involvement of supportive people in their lives.
Prior to a commitment to the commissioner being made, the probation agent needs to contact the Department of Correction's juvenile female intake staff John Hanoly, (651) 267-3613 to determine the offender's eligibility.
