This very special event takes place to honor and thank our community. It is a forum to recognize individuals and organizations that exemplify extraordinary service for the benefit of the children served by Woodland Hills. The ninth annual Beringer Guiding Light Awards will recognize the unfaltering dedication of a few.

The awards honor Sr. Mary Martin Beringer who has shown unwavering dedication to our organization for over forty years. Once caregiver to the children who lived here as St. James Orphanage and during the time of transition to Woodland Hills, Sr. Mary Martin left a positive mark in the lives of those she encountered…and still does. Her commitment to the mission of Woodland Hills is so profound that nine years ago, it was decided to give out an annual award in her name.

We are very pleased to announce our 2010 Award Winners:

• Tom McCabe, Volunteer Spirit Award
• Stephen Hero, DDS, Partner Award
• Southern St. Louis County 4-H, Exceptional Service Award
• Kevin Szczyrbak (Woodland Hills), Excellence in Achievement Award
